KEEP THAT CADDY CLEAN
Postiwyd Gan Really Rubbish Ar dydd Gwener 8 Jul Am 13:03
The kitchen caddy craze is sweeping Cardiff with more residents than ever recycling their food waste. Hopefully you help your parents/carers look after theirs. But in the warm summer months it’s not just humans who love Cardiff’s caddies. . . ants and flies can be attracted to caddies if they’re not kept tidy.
Follow these top tips to keep your caddy looking and smelling its best and keep those creepy crawlies in the garden where they belong:
Wash your caddy with mild detergent to keep it looking and smelling its best - Try a handful of cat litter, salt, garden lime or powdered ginger to keep your caddy fresh and bugs out. - Clean your fridge out the day before collection – that way your food waste will not be hanging around too long. You can even keep meat scraps in the freezer if you have the space. - Make sure your caddy lid is kept closed at all times and try to store it out of direct sunlight. - Essential oils such as citronella and tea tree oil are natural insect repellents. Rub some on your caddy lid to keep flies at bay and your caddy smelling super fresh.
