Most of us are enjoying this hot weather but some parts of the UK are running short on water supply in our resevoirs which means a temporary hosepipe ban has been implemented! People are being urged not to use sprinklers and hosepipes to wash cars and water gardens!
Let’s all work together to reduce the amount of water that we are using, so instead of using hosepipes to water gardens use a watering can and use a bucket and sponge for cleaning cars – this way we use much less water and it’s more fun!
By introducing this ban this should safeguard essential water supplies if the drought continues.
It is not a decision which has been taken lightly, but it is reported that a hosepipe can use as much water in an hour as a family of four would use in one day.
