Filthy Fact

Each year in Britain, we throw away 28 million tonnes of rubbish from our homes. This weighs the same as three and a half million double decker buses. (Source: The Green parent website)

RECYCLING BBQ FUN

BBQ FUN

As the weather gets even hotter, you’ll probably want to have a BBQ or two this summer!  This can be fun but at the same time you can do this the green way!  Here is some useful information on how you can recycle your BBQ and reduce waste!

Try and plan ahead how many people are coming to your party so that way you can buy just enough food for you and your friends to eat and  if you cook too much you can safely cool down the leftovers and use for lunch or tea later in the week.

Try to use a BBQ that you can re-use rather than a disposable one as this only ends up on the landfill.

Try to use your household cutlery instead of using plastic knives, forks and plates it’s better for the environment and it’s cheaper. Remember make sure you use the recycling bins for the plastic cups and bottles etc and to throw any wasted salad and fruit in your compost bin or in the food waste bags.

Enjoy your green BBQ!
