CITY OF TREES
Posted by REALLY RUBBISH on Thursday 1 Jul at 10:00
It is reported that having more trees in towns and cities can be better for its environment and quality of life and can reduce the carbon footprint!
The Woodland Trust says by planting more trees can improve air quality, reduce hot temperatures and benefit people's health and of course a great way of producing oxygen. Other ways in which more trees being planted can benefit us is reducing air pollution, help to save reduction of wildlife and flash flooding!
The ways in which the flooding can be reduced is by the trees absorbing groundwater, to feed on and they can help reduce the volume of rainfall hitting the ground and going in to the drainage.
For little cost, the Trust are hoping to launch a campaign to plant 20 million trees each year!! You can help and plant a tree in your school - with the teachers permission - and maybe try and reduce your carbon footprint by being carbon neutral which as the trees absorb carbon dioxide to produce oxygen!
