SHOW

Recycled bikes, Re-cycling songs, Circus acts, Recycled fashion show and Really Rubbish Awards were just some of the things the children enjoyed at the biggest ever action packed Really Rubbish Awards and Exhibition Show 2010 at City Hall Cardiff.

The children visited a number of exhibitors like Re-create – who collect and provide lots of wasted material from businesses, which that can still be used, so some of the children made some outfits for the recycled fashion show.

Bag2School had some wonderful fundraising ideas that involved recycling clothes, shoes and bedding so hopefully all the schools that attended will certainly have some exciting ideas for recycling next year.

The children made some wonderful pledges to be more environmentally friendly and tied these to a special pledge tree, and even contributed to world art RR’s Recycled World Art – Live Art Creation which got slightly messy!!

There was even music provided by Cardiff band Under the Driftwood Tree as they taught the children a ‘green’ song with actions so everyone joined in with the song and dance then they were entertained by a circus act teaching the children to juggle, balance on a ball and entertained everyone by skating, walking on stilts and other acrobatics which was fun!

One lucky child from Millbank Primary won a recycled bike after being the closest at guessing the weight of the bike so thank you to cycletrainingwales.org.uk

The competition Re-fashion live was a huge hit as it gave the children the chance to show off their fantastic efforts on the catwalk which was judged by a panel including a Cardiff Devil, and fashion editor.  The children’s effort even made the South Wales Echo the following day - click here to read about the fabulous re-cycled fashion show!
